SPAWN: Habitat restoration at the Buddha Barn

Saturday, April 5 @ 10:00 am - 2:00 pm

Get outside, learn new skills, and meet new people by volunteering with The Salmon Protection and Watershed Network (SPAWN). Help SPAWN maintain our restoration sites in the Lagunitas Creek watershed. This watershed is one of the most important habitats left for critically endangered Central California Coast (CCC) Coho salmon.

The focuses of our habitat restoration events are to plant natives and remove invasive plants. This habitat restoration event will be held at the Buddha Barn, formerly known as the Redi-Mix concrete plant, located near Point Reyes Station. The Buddha Barn’s address is 13201 Pt. Reyes – Petaluma Rd, Point Reyes Station, CA 94956. Enter on the Little Wing Farm Stand side of the property.

Habitat Restoration events run from 10 AM to 2 PM. Volunteers are encouraged to bring water and a snack or lunch, sun/rain protection, and wear work clothes and close-toed shoes that have good traction. SPAWN will provide gloves and tools.

To RSVP please contact Nyna Hong, Watershed Biologist, at nyna@tirn.net.
